SURFACE
PREPARATION
The very best results can
be achieved by preparing the surface area of your
pond properly. It is important to make sure
that everything from cracks, old peeling coating,
chipped concrete, cold joints and the like and taken
care of so that they pose no further chance of
causing future failures. Masonry should be
etched before applying Pond Shield as well.

TOUCHING UP WITH A
BRUSH
After your coating has
been properly applied it is always a good idea to
inspect it for any flaws prior to filling your pond
with water. This is the best scenario for
using a brush. Mix up only small enough
amounts that you know you can use before the
material hardens. Choose a video size,

USING A SHORT NAP
ROLLER
We recommend that you
apply your coating initially with a rubber squeegee
but you may find it easier to apply it with a short
nap roller. Remember, Pond Shield is designed
thick like grease so that it hangs at the proper
thickness. If you need to, you can always
switch back to the squeegee, then use the roller to
smooth out the squeegee marks and lines.

SPRAYING POND
SHIELD
Pond Shield epoxy has been
designed very thick so that it will hang on a
vertical or upside-down surface. If you plan
to spray Pond Shield, you'll need a machine that
will handle this sort of viscosity. Check our
spray specifications page for more information.

a variety of materials including wood. This
